My Tach Quit Working...

anyone know why my stock tach would quit working? When I turn the key forward it will move up but when I start the car it just stays there...any ideas why???
Thanks,
Adam

check all thw wring to it you might have to take part of the dash off to get to it, but now would be the perfect time to get a cool aftermarket one!

I'd take a look at the white wire where it goes out to the coil first from the bulk head connector. Chances are that where it attaches to the coil, may be a little dirty or even rusty after all the years. A little sand paper should do the trick on the wire connector and maybe a wire brush on the coil contact itself depending on what kind of setup you have.
