The 4.3's and 2.8's, etc... are geared to get off the line, but passing is not their best effort, so that would probably explain that.

The LO3 does respond well to mods, that is the one good thing. I went with 3.73 gears and they made a huge difference in accelleration, but without all my other mods I am pretty sure it wouldn't pull well at the top end. Good luck with whatever you do.

you probably have a 2 series carrier rear probably most likey you have 2:77 gears like I do. not so great on the low end but great acceleration on the highway 65+. Its not a performance gear whatsoever its designed for improved fuel economy yadee yadee ya. you dont want that you want performance. Id swap the gears seeing as though you have TBI and you mostly stock probably a set of 3:23's, 3:55 or even 3:08's would be a vast improvment to get more low end grunt and more off the line.

With a RS TBI Auto, he must have the worst rear in a 3rd gen car the 2:73 non-Posi rear 10-bolt. Get the 3:73 gear Posi rear for some get up and go and Mod that TBI.

If you check out the TBI section of www.thirdgen.org you can learn a lot about it. There are some people over there that are in the 12s wiith the LO3, to me that's impressive. I'm slowly making my way there, hopefully I'll be in the 13s this summer and make it to the 12s over the next winter.

12s with an L03? Who? there aren't even many (any??) people with TBI 350s running 12s.

The only way to run 12s with a tbi 305 is to give it so much nitrous that I'd want a 1" solid steel firewall and a 1" lexan windshield before I got behind the wheel.

There are plenty of guys on thirdgen.org that run 12s in a lo3.And its not "alot"of nitrous either, unless you consider a 75 shot alot.
In fact theres a friendly competition going on to see who can be the first to hit 13s in a n/a lo3 running stock heads.Theres alot of low 14s now and we'll get a 13 by the end of summer I sure.

Jim, do a search for a guy named ZRATED, he went 12.9 with a 120 shot on stock heads and cam, Im not sure if the intake was stock though. Beast5spdGTA posts here and there, he's pulling 96 mph with stock heads and an L98 cam. Pretty impressive, its no LS1 but they're using what they have very well. I wish I could throw my hat into the ring here and say I have mine running well but it doesnt even run right now lol.

Rippin: gears and exhuast man. If you dont want to hassle with the rear swap, get the SLP $99 take out 3-series carrier and a set of used 3.73's. Go with a good header (SLP, Mac, Hooker if you're on a budget) that has a 3" ypipe, and then do a 3" cat and 3" catback. Do the free mods, advance your timing, get an open element and you'd see low 15s, possible high 14s with a clean launch.
