Motor and a few other questions

Will a dual pattern flywheel that was bolted up to a th-350, bolt up to a 700r4? Is my speedometer cable driven?(1990 v6.) And when replacing an electric fuel pump with a mechanical pump what do I need? Thanks in advance

Your 700R-4 trans will bolt right up, BUT NOT TO A FLYWHEEL! Heh heh. I know what you meant- a flexplate. Yes, it'll bolt up. A stock 700R-4 converter will most likely use the small bolt pattern on the flexplate.

You can ditch the electric pump and go mechanical but you will want to rip out the electric pump- it's a considerable restriction to pull fuel through if it isn't running. You have to drop the tank to do that and it's a real PITA. A better bet would be to forget about the mechanical pump, buy a Mallory 3-port regulator and keep using the electric pump. The Mallory regulator comes with interchangable springs that will let you take the electric pumps very high pressure and bring it down to a carb-friendly ~6 PSI.

Depending on how much of the stock wiring, sensors and ECM are left in the car you might have to do some wiring to make sure the electric pump actually runs while both cranking on the starter and running normally. The stock electric pump uses some pressure switches and a relay and the ECM that your modifed car may or may not have any more.
