March Mid Mount Serpentine Setup Info + Pics

March sells the kit obviously. Part # 22023. It comes with Two brackets for Alt. and P/S. Comes with 4 Pulleys and 2 pulley covers, all bolts/hardware included also.

Things that need to be changed to make it work in our already Serpentine cars.

1. You need a new Power steering pump that uses a Keyway style pulley.(Roughly $40 reman.)

2. You need a standard rotation long water pump. A stock serpentine setup F-body 82-92 uses a reverse rotation water pump from the factory.(New Edelbrock Victor pump is $150)

3. Alternator! A stock piece WILL NOT WORK. You need an alternator with "12 and 6" o'clock mounting bolt holes. A stock serp Alternator has holes mounted around "12 and 5" o'clock. (I did a Jeg's Black 100Amp 1 Wire Alt for $99)

The kit does not include belts for some reason but it does tell you how to measure for them, etc. Couple pics below that I shot really quick.

Can you use the stock PS pump and lines?

No, it uses a Keyway style pump, not a press on pulley like the stock piece. The steel line will work but not the rubber return. You need to trim it or make new.

So we're talking 7-800 by the time you get the alternator, ps pump, brackets and belts. do you have a part number for the pump that'll work?

You're about right on the total. No PN on the pump. Even the local parts stores didn't know what a Key'd pump was so they opened boxes until they found one. It was under 69 camaro.

Just FYI, non-serpentine thirdgens had standard rotation waterpumps. (87 and older) I had one on my old 87 bird. I think they use the 12/6 alt as well but I could be wrong.

Do you have any clearer shots from a little bit farther back? I've always wanted to get that setup. I work at schucks and could probably look some part numbers up tommorrow for things and post 'em in the thread for anyone that searches for this info later on.

No other pics yet. I figure furthur back and you'll be seeing more floor...

If that helps, I can go snap away.

You're definately correct on the pre 88 cars.
