Exhaust tips on a third gen were never an option, any year, any variant.

If you'd like to see a pic of fourth gen Z28 tips on a third gen, click on "SC Z!!" in my sig, then on Exhaust. Scroll all the way down.

I've seen some in the back of Super Chevy magazine. They are stainless steel and $80 to $85 a pair.

Mine are original GM, purchased from the local Chevy parts department. That's because at that time, about four years ago, I could not locate a used pair (too new, I suppose). I then had them chrome plated.

My tailpipes were made to the correct length to either clamp on the tips (yes, they come with clamps), or to weld on. I had mine welded on.

Thanks. It is the only true dual setup on a third gen that I know of that follows stock routing. To answer your question, the exhaust is loud. That's expected considering these are a pair of chambered straight-through mufflers. Have I ever been pulled over for noise? Never. Hopefully, this answers the question.

Love it. Proud of it too, considering no one else has one like it.

I have yet to run it at the track to know how much of a gain (if any) I get from the exhaust. I doubt I'll ever find out because I've made other modifications since my last run at the track.

The sound is awesome. I have one sound clip of it. It can be found at:

whenever i start my car and rev the engine the exhuast throws out tiny rusty metal chips. I think it is because the car hasnt been started in a whileand the problem is starting to go away but i think they are coming from the exuast tips themselves. just curious to see if any others will the mail slots has had this problem.Thanx
