Check out that link Stealth gave you. That covers the intake. As for the heads: The LT1 is reverse cooled so some of the coolant passages need to be blocked off. Check out this link, that guy really knows what he's doing though.

If you have the money, go LS1 To be honest, I sometimes regret not waiting on the T56 and buying an LS1/6spd combo. And I can't upgrade to an LS1 now, the trannies are different.

Oh well.

Go for it! An intake swap is much easier and cheaper than an engine swap. As a plus, while your working on the intake you can still drive your car. The intire swap can be done for under $300 but even with the John milicans fuel lines and dist. spacer you can do it for around $450.

Figure for around $2500 you could get an LS1/T56 combo.

1500 - motor
1000 - T56

Then probably $1k for all the little pieces/conversion pieces.

I've always wondered if the LT1 intake would bolt up on the 305 TPI motor? I dont see why it wouldnt. What kind of increase would I be looking at?

It will, with the same mods needed for a 350. I don't know how much you'd gain though.

Do you think it would be worth it?

Heavens yes. I saw a SBC LT1 intake for sale for $250 in the Classifieds just last week. The guy might still have it.

If I didn't need to pass a visual emissions inspection, I assure you that intake would be atop my new motor. It's the cheapest aftermarket intake out there. Power up to 6k, port it and raise that numer. Looks cool. Dang, I just wish I could do it!

Now this is all if you're on a budget. Of course if you have the money there are better intakes but for $2-300, you absolutely cannot beat this!

www.ThirdGenResource.com -- They sell a conversion kit with the motor mounts/headers/k-member. For the engine/tranny just try to find a donor car.
