lt1 and 3rd gen radiator
I don't believe it'll work. The LT1 has, I believe, more coolant lines coming off the water pump that need to meet up with the radiator, and they're different on a SBC radiator.
Just get a 4th Gen one, it's not that big of a deal...that way you know it'll work for sure.

I personally would get a radiator out of a manual car and run an independent tranny cooler. You get more efficient cooling that way, and it's easier to just cut off the steel lines at the bottom of the radiator and run short rubber hoses around to the aftermarket cooler.
It doesn't make sense to me why people wouldn't just get a 4th Gen radiator. You're gonna spend as much money buying NEW hoses as you would getting your hands on a used LT1 set-up with them.
But...to each their own. I guess no one was is the "right" way to do it...

I now had a radiator from a 5-speed thridgen, which was perfect since I did not want a radiator out of an automatic car, since I was not going to be using the stock tranny cooling ports on the radiator anyway. I obtained brand new hoses for the radiator. The top hose I ordered was for a '94 camaro, and the lower hose was ordered for a '92 corvette. They both fit beautifully for my setup.

I agree with you Lt1Powered85Z, if you already have one from an Lt1 car then use it. If not and yours is fine...use that one. I never got one with mine and therefore will use my original.
94z'sson...good luck....I'm sure you'll be fine regardless...I doubt a radiator is made to flow a specific way unless someone can point me to a different opinion.
