ls1 spindles on 3rd gen?

has anyone put ls1 spindles on a 3rd gen camaro or firebird. i want to get a 88z, but i want the newer brakes. i would also like to change the offset, and this would be the easiest way. also, would a ls1 rear end fit the 3rd gens? and is it bolt on, or custom fabrication?

thanks

Re: ls1 spindles on 3rd gen?

Nobody has ever put LS1 spindles on a 3rd gen, and no one ever will. LS1 cars use a upper and lower control arm front suspension. Our cars use a modified MacPherson strut - two totally different designs.

Want to upgrade to LS1 brakes? Or how about C4 or C5 Corvette brakes? You're in luck, as they can all be done. There is a lot of stuff going on over on www.thirdgen.org 's suspension board. You can either follow the posts and DIY, or you can buy kits from some of the board members over there. Go check it out.

LS1 rears bolt right in. I have a 2002 TA rear in my car. You will need 91-92 style e-brake cables and different wheels (4th gen wheels have the correct dimensions). The LS1 rear is 3" wider than the 3rd gen rear.

i just wanted to change the offset without using spacers, and if i could upgrade the suspension or brakes while i was doing that, then all the better

thanks for the response.
