Lowering

I have an 88 camaro and it sits very high especially in the front. I want it to be very low and was planning on getting springs all around with drop spindles in the front. Can I do that and if I shouldnt what should I do to make it VERY low?

eibach sportlines
they make it go 2in lower than stock
cons of them are though that: you need lca relocation brackets (same for any springs), probably new shocks (again, same), and most say that the sportlines are just for looks and there is no real suspension travel, so it hurts handling more than it helps
search on the autox forum for some facts about them

screw Eibach springs. go to ebay and find some Drop Zone springs. they are very nice, they are painted red and have like a thin layer of clear rubber over them to keep 'em from rusting. i have them in my car and love them. i replaced my shocks and struts at the same time w/ KYB and the car handles great and rides great too. i think they lower the car 1 1/2 in the front and 1 3/4 in the rear. and they arent that expensive either

heres the link to 1 set on Ebay i found,Drop Zone i mean.

i think i paid a little over $100 for them, but they are "buy it now" at 89.99.

sportlines might lower it another 1/2" more...but all u have to do id cut 1/2 a coil off the Drop Zone's w/ a whiz wheel when u get them, and it will be the same.

ive got a slammed S10, and it will be the ONLY lowered car i own, i love a slammed car, looks AWESOME and i love it, but i wouldnt lower my camaro cause i cant stand the rough ride and my s10 doesnt even clear a speed bump....i think its ironic i can take a 30 mph turn at 45 but can only take a 15 mph speed bump at 5 mph.....lmao......if it is legall in your state then i would go wiff bagz, gotta love it

Same here, the Camaro though. My T56 crossmember scrapes on the majority of speedbumps. I go over them at an angle and it clears. It really sucks, I think I'm still going to get a Pro-kit and just go over them really sideways.

I'd NEVER recommend cutting springs. I would definitely stay away from doing that.

Tony--You said VERY low, simple answer. Sportlines. I'd wait until they're installed to see if you even want to look into drop spindles. I don't know of anyone that makes them or any donor cars you can get them from. Good luck, let us know what you do.

i cut 1/2 of my front top coil on my prokit and it lowered it perfectly and handled better. gm did an article back in the day with a blue 91 that describes it better.

just bag it.

well if ur truck rides that bad,did u put on drop shocks for it when u lowered it? if not, theres ur problem. they are a little on the expensive side, but will keep u from bouncing 1/4 of a mile from running over a pebble.

and i drive a lowered IROC (well, not at the moment b/c its undergoing a motor swap) but i replaced my shocks and struts (as said earlier i believe) and it rides EXCELLENT.

i loved my prokit and bilstein hd's however i think the sports probably would have rode even better since they are for more lowered vehicles.

i can't complain at all as that combo was the best i've had to date on my camaro.

I have sportlines and bilstens on the Camaro and all I can say it is not for a daily driver. Man does it beat you to death, It drags on everything in the road, I can't even run over a pop can laying down. Pics of the car are in the sig. I can say it does give it a nice stance and handles just as good as it looks. But agian then you pay for that in your spine.
