looking for a place to mount a msd box

i've been pushing the box around under the hood all day looking for a good spot to mount it with no luck. i removed most of my a/c stuff, i would like to remove the a/c box on the firewall but i heard i need to box off the hole or somthing. any tips on where i can put it or how to block off the a/c box so i can mount it there????

hoss its your car ,mount where ever, but why do you have to cut up heater box,it 4 small screw holes, fyi if you mount and metal especially firewall use some rubber grouments underneath to avoid annoying hum/rattle

I was lucky enough to find a non-a/c heater box and bolt it on....hello spark plugs and header bolts! i ditched my windshield washer fluid reservoir and mounted the msd box there.

Re: looking for a place to mount a msd box

I saw one that a guy made a bracket to mount it right above his battery. Looked pretty good.

On my 84 I mounted it inside under the dash. It's protected from the elements, and the heat & vibration of the motor. Definately use the shock mounts.

i'm thinking that you misread....i mentioned the non-a/c heater box just because it came up in the post, but that is NOT where i mounted the msd box....i mounted it over on the inner fender where the washer fluid reservoir used to be, perfectly safe from extreme heat.
