Looking for a good water pump
So after a summer of having to run the heater in 100+* weather because of an unholy over-heating problem, I have finally decided to replace the water pump. Woo hoo
So...any preferences brand-wise?
And thank you!

hey man, pretty sure a water pump is a water pump, if you go to the zone, auto zone, (haha) they offer a stock and performance pump, we got the stock for our built 350 and it keeps the engine cool just fine with the fan running and 160 degree stat. you say you have over heating problems. have you looked down into your radiator while it was empty, see any blockages in the lil slits that go down the side? try a really good cooling system flush and follow the instructions on the bottle religiously, and flush with clean water over and over again. until what you drain is clear too. goodluck man.

Yep. Did all that. The guy I bought my car from was a hack, and had yanked the stat and screwed around with the fan wiring. So I have been tracking this problem for a while. I think the fan circuit in the ecm is fried too, but that's a story for another day
Right now the fan is hard wired on, cooling system has been flushed really well (twice), and the thermostat has been replaced. So...my next adventure in the overheating mistery will be to replace the water pump and see what happens... I'll get a performance one "just in case"
Thanks, man

Stewart water pumps are the best. check them out http://www.stewartcomponents.com/
My new 383 stays very cool all the time. I went with the stage 2.
