L98 355 Supercharged combo ???????
I have a friend that is currently finishing a project vette. I will list the current setup and if you can give you best guestimate on hp and tq.
L98 block .30 over
Eagle cast crank 3.48" stroke
Stock LT1 rods
Speed Pro forged flat tops 4 valve reliefs 10.1 comp
Ported bowl for intake runners, ported bowls with polished runners in exhaust in stock heads 1.94" / 1.6" ( exhaust valves replaced with 1.6)
Hotcam with 1.6 rockers 218/ 228 525" 112LSA
Ported lower intake, SLP runners, Ported upper with throttle bores completely opened.
54mm tbody....from ebay
Powerdyne with 6lb pulley
30 lb injectors, those were from the NA setup but the current set up will run 36 lbs or better.
1.75" longtubes with header wrap
stock piping with flowmasters mufflers
Stock rear gears 3.08 or something close to that
6 spd with dual mass flywheel
That is pretty much the combo, its in the car but not ready to fire yet....so what do you guys think?

340/360hp and 440lb-ft at the wheels. That's roughly 420'ish at the flywheel.
It will run good in a light vette but 3.08 gears aren't helping anything move fast.
It will be a torque beast that runs out of steam fast. I'd imagine a shift near 5500-5700 and a really low TQ peak. I hope those are the Vette Aluminum L98 heads at that compression, if so, it should work well. Sticky tires a must. Goodluck

Yes, the heads are the aluminum L98's. Are those heads 165cc intake runners?? So a total torque monger.....thats what I was thinking when he was putting the components together. I was kind of hoping he would try a different cam and see what would happen but thats his call.

It used to be that was the only option. Today they make the base for other heads, like the vortect heads.

The intake manifold is the power killer more so than the cylinder head. The "tuned" port intake is too long to make horsepower at higher rpms. more rpm is needed for more HP. An Lt1 stye intake could add 1000rpm to the powerband on the top end and horsepower will continue to climb well past 5000/5500 rpm, where as the TPI will start to die at that point. I'd guess an LT1 intake to be worth 40hp along with the wider powerband, especially with a hotcam being involved. Goodluck!
AFR heads would really make some steam too!.

Ok, update time. The car has been together now for about 2 weeks, and drives great. Still in the break in period but can tell that it has a really strong torque curve. Thanks for the input you guys, hopefully I will be able to get some video posted on here in a little bit.
