I have a problem on my 92 Z28; It keeps blowing the accessory fuse. I put a new one in today and before I could climb out from under the dash I heard a sizzle sound up around the gauges and the fuse blew immediately. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? The gauges all work fine, but my odometer is working kind of funny. Thank you for any help.

 

I'll bet on it being the lighter. Take it out or don't put it in all the way and replace the fuse.

I'll second the cig lighter being the culprit.

I chased this problem for days in my dads 92 Vert. Just take it out and see if you have a problem. I ended up cutting off the heating element inside the lighter to fix the problem.

 

You guys seem to be right! I pulled it out quite a bit and it seems to be holding up. Thank you guys, you saved me from tearing apart the dash!
