K&N vs. paper filter on near stock enigine?

On a nearly stock TBI with an open element and some free mods and timing adjustment, would a K&N be worth the money over a regular paper filter? Thanks.

I use a K&N on all my vehicles just because it lets the engine "breath" easier, which is always a good thing.

K&N's cost what 2? 4? times as much but they last forever if you maintain them....buying K&N's is one of those things you do just because its something you should do.

And that's the ONLY reason, too! You don't get more hp, regardless of what K&N tell you. Car Craft proved that in an article last year.

K&Ns are good filters. I use them in most of my cars.

But dont run down to your local auto parts store to buy them buy them via summit they are $25 each via summit & they are $50 at your local auto parts store.

$40 for a used filter, right. I think I might just get that Summit reusable air filter. At $25, you can't beat it and it's probably just a K&N anyway.

But what about in the long run when the both filters get some dirt on them? Just curious.

Definiately go for the k&n, you will save time and money in the long run with the reuseability of the k&n.
