jetting question for secondaries
hey everyone
I've got a holley 4160 600 cfm that I am planning on putting the 4150 conversion kit on it (basically adds the metering block) What I don't know is what jets I should start out with so that I'm not running too lean. I've got a real problem of running rich over 3000 rpms (dyno tested w/ wideband) and since there aren't jets on the secondaries yet there is nothing i can do about it.
I've got a 350 w/ centerbolt heads, edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 4160 600 cfm carb, edelbrock tes shortys, flowmaster 80 series... oh and the jets for the primaries are 60s
thanks

Since the primaries have a power valve and the secondaries don't (or shouldn't), a good starting point for the secondaries is 8 jet sizes higher than the primaries.
It all depends on the carb design since there can be many differences from model to model.
From that starting point you can then adjust the jets to best suit your engine combination. The jets that work best for your engine may not be the same as someone elses similar engine.

ditto what stephen said. you need to get out there and start w/about that 68 or 70 and go from there.

thanks for the info guys
I plan on putting it on the rollers again in Oct (I think the 12th is our next dyno day) I just wanted somewhere to start as far as the jetting goes.... God knows that not everyone can make use of the same jet sizes, cause of course that would be too easy
