IROC pricing and suggestions
hey guys dont post much in here but i figured id start again. im looking for a new car and ive got a few questions. first im looking for a good fast car and ive limited my choices to a few. first what i want in the car. i want a manual if at all possible, t-tops, runs good stock, looks nice. my choices right now are a fox boyd 5.0, a IROC or a TA/formy. if i get the f-bod i want a 350. now i was always under the understanding that i cant get a t5/350 combo. on thirdgen.org tho a few are saying something about late 80's formulas got them. is that true? also what are some options i should look for? thanks guys!

There was ZERO thirdgens ever built with a 350 and standard transmissions. No matter what one moron says that he has a uncle who's best friend's, guy he works with has a mechanic that owned one. It is all lies. All the people over on that site that actually know something they know there was nol 350/ 5-speed cars. Good luck in your search.

You gotta love the thirdgens, however no they didnt make any t5/350 cars. They only made them with an automatic. 5.0 fox bodys are easy and inexpensive to make fast, but dont look as good as a thirdgen iroc or z28 IMO. If you want a nice thirdgen in good condition you will be looking to spend $6k or more. Then some good up grades would be some intake work(mini ram, super ram, steal ram/ bigger runners, ported plenum, ported base) you can ceep your stock tb, just through an air foil on it, then put some headers on and you should have a nice mid 13 second car. Stick around this forum, thirdgen.org is good but full of azzholes and some bs. As questions and you will get answers here. Good luck

One option to careful of is the electric windows. Pain in the ace.
A) they're slow
B) they go out really easy
I would however go for electric door locks, cruz control, just stuff like that, but if at all possible, avoid electric windows.

I have had 1 iroc for 4 years, and the other iroc for 2 years. I have NEVER had a problem with my electric windows. They are kinda slow but not to bad, also the door locks do kinda suck. Not much you can do about that. Other then this these cars are great. The doors are pritty heavy and the pin in the hindges my need to be changed. I have had to change all the pins in the hindges in both of my cars. Now the doors shut like there new.

Yeah, they are slow, and the locks, I thought mine were just bad, but you say they all do this? how do I fix it? They like, make noises when you push the buttons, but they dont move it very much, and one doesnt control the other one, so each buttons only control that door. And also, my driver side door does rub on the bottom, how hard is it to replace that pin, and how much does it cost?

I have a friend who is selling his 3rd gen Formula 350 a4. This car is sweet and like new. Has 350 LT1 intake and dyno was like 275 RWHP. It is black with ramair hood sweet sweet looking car. He wants like $5,500.00 for it. There is no way I would sell it for that price if it were mine. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rrabine2/main/rcrs.htm
Those with slow power windows. Lube your run channels with WD40 about twice a year. This will speed them up. Not as fast as my 4th gen windows but better than them being dry. You will see a difference.
