injectors not firing/pulsing
ok. been trying to figure this out for awhile now.. replaced fuel pump and still wont run... i figured out that if the cold injector is connected it runs for 2 secs then dies, if i disconnect it, it wont run at all... traced it back to the injectors... they have the 12 volts key start power... but they are not firing... how can i find out if the computer is bad? i tried to check for any signal coming from the computer and there is none.... its 16052541 out of an 85 tpi i believe(the guy who sold it to me told me it was out of an 88 L98, im still pissed lol)
another thing.. the chip inside says HLK if thats needed
thanks

I had the opposite problem on an 89 L98 'bird once; both sides fired all the time, flooding the engine. I did some research so I can tell you that:
There is 12v strapped to one end of each injector bank. The computer outputs 0v on a particular banks control wire to fire the injectors on that bank. It sinks current by supplying a ground instead of sourcing current by outputting a voltage.
The distributors on these vehicles have an ignition amplifier with 2 outputs. One output goes to the ignition coil. The other sends signals to the computer. Look at the connectors coming out the drivers side of the distributor. Make sure the one that goes to the puter is connected and undamaged. If good, have the module tested.
I confirmed that my ECM was bad by dropping the puter down. When the engine actually ran, I rapped on the case with my knuckles and the engine hesitated. A strong smack and the engine died. Rebuilt unit was 89 bucks at the parts store.
IIRC
