Indexing front springs..where to put them?

Ok I have my front springs out and I need to put them back in....I know about indexing them...I know they cover the holes...but do they cover just one hole or both? and if they only cover one hole how far past the hole do I go? do I put them in the middle of both ...I have also heard halfway cover the second hole....

You're over-thinking things. You want the pigtail down in the spring pocket as far as it will go without digging into the steep wall at the end of it.

I've heard that the end of the spring goes in the middle of the two holes.
