Wink I'm Back in a 3rd Gen after 13 years!

I sold my supercharged 88 IROC years ago when I sold my house and changed careers. Since then I bought a matching #s 1970 big block Corvette and drove it 900 miles in a year and a half. All the while paying $500 a month for it. I decided it was too much money for something I couldn't enjoy because of insurance restrictions. It was funny, people would ask me if I missed the Corvette and I would respond by telling them I missed the IROC. So, here I am again! I bought a clean example of a 1990 IROC!

I know the feeling. I've owned 4 thirdgens and just sold my Lt1 Formula for my 5th 3rd gen. There is just something about those 80's mullet machines.

IROC/Z28 3rds are gaining popularity. My Z and I have been thru many sticky situations. Its basically family. I have over 340 K miles before I replaced the engine. I been getting more compliments than ever before.

definitely welcome back. yeah my 87 IROC may only have a 305 but it was in rough shape when i got it and I spent the last 6 months or so I was on active duty fixing it up and love it. I also have a 96 and a 79 but I love driving that IROC the most.

Gaining in popularity isn't because they are getting the respect they deserve again, it's because 1st and 2nd gen cars have gone through the roof, everywhere is a 4th gen with an aftermarket ram air hood, and 5th gens are $30k for a V6. So now the people that shunned 3rd gens, are reluctantly buying them to hopefully cash in. I know it was that way when the 2nd gens started getting expensive because they couldn't afford a 1st gen and wouldn't be caught dead in a third gen and the 4th gens just came out.

I have been toying with the idea more and more lately of picking up a clean third gen and dumping an LSx motor in it. How about some pics of this new ride?
