Ignition Upgrade....
Hey fellas, well today I picked up a set of 8mm taylor wires, and an MSD blaster 2 coil. There is a new cap and rotor on the car, and I will also be changing plugs. My question is, what kind of improvement would I see if i were to go with some sort of additional ignition like MSD 6AL??? How would I install it, and the benefits! I am sure the car is gonna come alive with bigger wires, resh plugs and a new coil..... But is MSD really worth it?

My understanding with ignitions on a basically stock car is that you wont really see any gains but its gives you a better platform to mod with.. It stops spark from breaking up when you get up into high rpms.

You won't see any difference. It's mainly for high RPMs and you really won't spend much time there on a stock L98. There's alot of talk how it's good, but I've never seen a dyno run or time slip that showed any benefit. You'll also have more problems with an aftermarket ignition, be it the box, the coil, or the harness, than the stock HEI stuff. So, if you're building a street car, stick with HEI. It's more than adequate for the job. If you plan on spinning past 6500 on a regular basis (and have the $$ to build such a block), then go for it.
The benefit for you, will be from new plugs and wires. I would have held out on the Taylors until you get headers though, because you will most likely need to run a custom (cut to fit) wiring scheme to keep the wires from burning up.
