this isnt a camaro question, but it is an iron 4 blot main block. i put a main cap on back wards.... and .. oh god.... oh god...... a tiny piece of the block was crushed where the main cap fits snug into the block... oh god...... it was actually a piece that sort of fell out. its about 1/16x1/16 and is at an angle, so that the iron is still there at the bottom. its kind of hard to explain. but i will try .

----\________|------- sort of like that. if that makes sense, ecept the angle is about 40 degrees as opposed to was appears to be a 70 degree angle. i really really need to know if this is busted or can still be used.

 

If you can get a picture that would help alot. where did the chip come off of? the block or the main cap? if it came off the edge of the block, i don't think it would hurt it too bad as long as the cap still seats flat on the block. if any doubts just take it to a machine shop and see what they think.
