I just bought an 86 z28 camaro with a 305 in it and it has only 86000 miles on it. I have a new tranny that i have to put on it and the guy said that i need a tuneup for it to. How much do u think it will run me if i brought it to a place and had them put my new tranny on it and do a tuneup for me?

 

well i can tell you this, if you can do the tune-up yourself do it. b/c you'll save yourself money, money that you could use to help get your tranny in! but then again, if you don't have the tools or know-how then you'd probably have to take it somewhere, unless you got some friends who would be willing to help you out. i did my own tune-up, i spent close to $200 in parts, and a good friend of mine came over w/ some useful tools and we made it a nice summer afternoon project! haha, it was fun. we did a complete tun-up, we went all out. i mean if you take it to a garage i could see you paying maybe about 200 bucks for a tune-up. i don't know how much for the tranny. but it helps to know people! well good luck w/ your project!
