Does anyone know how to stop my stupid cig lighter from blowing a fuse every time i need to put something in it It's frustrating

I've seen more cig. lighters blowing fuses because a penny fell into them, shorts them out. If not, replace the cig. lighter socket. Most auto. parts stores sell replacements and they are easy to install.
