Unhappy i need help badddddddd

well after finally finding out what engine is in my car I need hhhhelp

the car would not start so i had to push it out of the paint booth. i dropped the rear and put 1- new fuel pump, and the pump would not come on when i turn the key. 2- fuel rely, they said it my not be getting power because of the rely but that did not work. 3- a hot wire to the switch at the top of the pump right under the back carpet, but that just dumped gas out my cat which is the last of my piping (while in paint did not want paint on the tips or piping) 4- Now i have a hot wire running to the rely and it seems to control fuel flow, but now the car won't idle you start it and it dies. when you hold the gas down the car will run, but don't let go or it dies. one time it did idle but up and down from 500 to 1,000. make a sharp turn or press the brake hard and it dies but will fire right back up. put new plugs also today and am working on changing the wires.

help it looks good and i can't even drive it new paint is
orange.

also check your fuel filter. You say you get gas when you stomp on it but otherwise it dies. you probably have either a clogged filter or a clogged fuel line....(at max pressure it works) Since you have it painted you might also want to change your air filter. You may have it clogged also from the paint both???

If it pumped the motor full of enough fuel for it to come out the cat, please tell me you changed the oil before you got it running at all.

....the car won't idle you start it and it dies. when you hold the gas down the car will run, but don't let go or it dies. one time it did idle but up and down from 500 to 1,000. make a sharp turn or press the brake hard and it dies but will fire right back up.

This is exactly the symptom when the MAF dies. Disconnect the MAF and start the engine. If it continues to run, the MAF is most likely dead. But before you replace this rather expensive sensor, replace both the MAF power and burnoff relays. They're very inexpensive compared to the MAF and could also be the problem.

I'm assuming you have a TPI? If so, the MAF is a black, 3-inch diameter sensor that's about 4-inches long. It's located between the "Y" air intake and the accordion-looking inlet in front of the throttle body. The connector is located on the bottom. Be careful when disconnecting it. Make sure to use a screwdriver to lift the retaining clip, then pull the connector out straight towards the back of the car.

Also, when running the engine with the MAF disconnected will result in an SES code. Disregard this as running without the MAF is only a test. Once you shut the engine off, remove the ECM power fuse for a minimum of eight seconds. Then reinstall it. This will clear all codes. The power fuse is located in-line in a black plastic fuse holder bolted (one 7mm sheet metal screw) to the passenger side fender in front of the coolant overflow reservoir.

If there is water in the fuel tank it will slosh up into the pump, "when you brake hard, or make a sharp turn".

You might want to check for loose grounds, especially if the motor was replaced, many of the swithcing grounds from the ecm and relays ground on the back of the cylinder heads. Check the connections on the back of the cylinder heads above the trans bellhousing, the factory harness has multiple grounds tied together to a ring terminal that bolts to the cylinder head. You could have a loose ground thats affected when you turn etc.

Ive had so much fun undoing all the half-*** work the guy before me did when he dropped the engine back into my car after it was rebuilt. Not to mention undoing the genius work like taking out the windshield washer fluid tank, etc. Who needs clean windshields anyways? Engine does look nice...ill give it that....tranny does throw you back when it shifts from 5000rpms as well so i guess its not all bad
