I need a 3rd gen rear end.

Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a rear end for a 84 TA. If it has 3.73 gears or even 3.42's in it ,that would be even better. I know the 4th gen rear would work ,but it set his wheels out futher and he doesn't want that. So ,a 3rd gen rear is what he wants. Thanks for the help guys.

How much ? I'm sure he will be willing to pay for shipping if the price is right . I'll run it by my friend tomorrow morning at work that you do have one with 3.73's. Another thing ,is the rear in good condition ?? If so ,I'm sure he may be interested . Thanks

NOT to take a sale away from friends, but you might go look in your local boneyard. Most likely there will be 3rd Gens and 4th gens there. Mainly do to the fact that kids who don't know how to drive are given a car from daddy to play with....." Daddy I wrecked this one I need another....Thank you Daddy"

Swapping the rear would be MUCH cheaper, unless you wanna chop on your axle flanges to put a set of junkyard brakes on. As far as being easy.....swapping the rear doesn't require fabrication, but swapping the brakes doesn't require removing the rear....it's a matter of personal preference.

I swapped the whole rear - upgraded to a stronger rear with posi, disc brakes, and better gears too.
