Question I Have A Quick Question Plz Answer

i was thinking about getting an LT1 or LT4 engine in my 91 z28....i was wondering if my 700r4 transmission and my current aftermarket hooker headers would bolt up to it?? Or would i have to get a different tranmission and headers....thanks!!

Tranny and headers will work.
You might want to get a throttlebody from a 93 LT1 since those have a provision for the TV Cable.
LT1 headers will not work on the 3rd gen.
You can look at my setup,

You need to ask yourself why you are doing it. The LT1 or LT4 is not that good a motor that it is a given. What do you hope to achieve that you cannot do with the L98? Remember, you have to remove the harness and ECM and have the LT1 or LT4 harness stuck in. Now, if you originally planned to go with say a DFI system, the might be different. I believe yours is a Speed Density system and you are changing to a Mass Air so you will have to get that sensor and maybe someone who can reprogram the computer for you. Your system is easier and you can go to www.fasterproms.com and have them burn a custom chip for mods but I am not so sure about the newer flashprom ECMs.

You can run the LT1 or LT4 in speed density mode as well, just takes one click of the mouse button.
That is how I am running my 95 LT1 setup.

AFAIK, the only real thing the LT series has on the L98 is that it is reverse flow, aluminum heads and the intakes in the L98 suck. If you were to invest in better intakes and heads, I doubt that for the same effort, you could make a LT series significantly better than a L98.
