Why not keep the TBI and get some aftermarket help, like a Holley 670cfm T/B, Holley TBI intake, 1" T/B spacer, injector spacer, custom Prom and keep it looking stock...can you say "Sleeper!"...

Hell Yes.
why do you think i TBIed my 406.
it look's like a shiney 225hp 350TBI.........
But only me and my friend's know it a 540hp 406.........
it's more fun that way.........
Every one is going to ask me you an L-98 on that LoL.......
LoL I can say "if it was an L-98 i'd be sitting with my 4 way's "
you just got your LS-1 reasted by a TBI engine......
they're Face when ya open da hood>>
my face .

406TBI Build List : 1-forged crank large journal 8-sd forged 30over Keith black pistons, 8-sd forged rods, 8-sets of moly50/50 titanium rings, titanium bearing set: main rod cam, titanium gear drive set, stainless steal valve‘s.

406TBI Spec's
400Sbc .030over bore, 10.5: 1,292dur.575lift,Dart head’s, ported & polished, 2-400cfm TB's Holley TBI setup.Now with adator aka spacer's and in jector spacer's the TB's are 475CFM each.
457cfm+475cfm=950cfm witch is plenty to suport 540hp.

Dyno:

540HP@6,500RPM.
620FTLBTorque@4,800RPM .

I've got my doubt's on that dyno reading.

I Think it's prolly more like 580Ftlb Torque.

CAR:
1991 GTA Ramair2

Transmission:
700R4: Heavy Duty internal's double clutched gear pack's,B&M Valve body,B&M filter shift improover,B&M front pump 12% volume ,7% more pressure, and over sized tranny pan Hold's an extra 2qt's (yippy skippy right??).
HD tranny cooler from a C-4500.

Diff/Gear's:
Msoer 9 inch rear end housing Richmond 3.73 Gear's,
Jegs adjustable Lmiited slip diff.

Wanted:
295/50R16 Drag Radail's.

I am sure i can give and LS-1 or LS-6 a heck of run fron 0-120-130mph......
easy.

no no not a TBI305 A TBI406.

I meant Ivesting money to have a 225HP 305 no not worth it.

But to invest money in a 540hp 406 it wouls be you'll have all of $3,500 in it . and you'll have Torque that won't end.........
with some nice 3.73 or 4.11 gear's you'll Fly..........
It will Take one heck of an LS-1 to keep up with it.....
and stock LS-6 won't be able to beat you till ya get over 130Mph......By thime he catches up you will abat almose 160Mph.

Just food for thought guy.

as long as you havce a your new engine picked out and built in time man..............
Third gen's are Junk in the body they don't like to sit they rust fast. But there cheap Fun . and there so shiney tho.
I love third gen's but if you let it sit 1 year or more they just go all to junk.....
so along as it you got an engine ready to roll,it syck's when a good car get's crushed cause some kid sat at the wall instead of working on it thats all seen it a million time's.
all the "i'mma going to fix up" or 'i'll get to it" well your saying it and doing nothing a once good car goe's to heck and get's crished all i'm saying don't sit around and think about it do it..........
