I can't hear my car :(
Hey everyone, I just bought a 1991 Camaro RS with a 305 under the hood. The car runs good, and seems to have some power, but the exhaust system that's on it makes the car virtually silent. Does anybody have any exhaust system reccomendations? Borla, Flowmaster, DynoMax.....etc. I'm looking for a nice deep V-8 sound. Thanx for any help.

Didn't 1991 Models come with LO3's?

I like Hooker, but then again that's what was on my '92 RS and now my '94 TA so maybe I'm biased? I wouldn't go with a Borla because of expense. I don't know if Magnaflow makes a 3rd gen system (I imagine they do), but they're stainless steel and not much more than a Hooker.
Basically, I'd go Hooker

Just about any cathack is going to give you the same preformance results so long as you go with atleast 2.5in mandrell bent pipes. The borla might give a little more because you can bypass the muffler with it. However with the price there are better things you could do with that extra money.
So basically just go listen to sound clips and decide what you like. The hooker seems to be a popular choice and I think that is what I will try once I get around to doing a catback.

Just out of curiosity, why do all of you like edelbrock headers. Why don't you go with the Hooker catback, and Hooker headers. I would just like to know if edelbrock is that much better. If it is, why? I just want to make the best choice for the money when I go to put the exhaust system on.
And Black6SpdTA
Your right, my car has a LO3 305.
O yeah, thanx everybody for your help.

Re: I can't hear my car :(
the reason i chose the edelbrock shorties was they were easy to install(i've helped a friend out before), the low end torque, and the price isnt that bad either(bout $325)
