Depends on the motor bro! Check this out:

I'm not sure year to year, I imagine the newer GTA's? Someone else will chime in soon who knows what they're talking about hopefully.

Best year to buy is 89. Get the T/A with the Turbo6 in it and you will be very happy.

On a 1985 Firebird TA depending on the engine & tanny go from the LG4 155HP/245TQ to LB9 215HP/275TQ and some between these numbers. The best years would be a 87 & up 350 TPI car.
Forget about a Turbo Firebird, to few & costly if available.

Go for a 350 TPI Formula, they weigh less than a GTA.

i'd have to say the 90-92 firebird's, trans am's,formula's,and gta's. tend to be the faster more relaible of the third gen's. but an 85 is alright. there about 220hp and 323ftlb toque. if it's a 350tpi.

I didnt think the Tuned Port motors were put in F-Bodies until '86. Correct me if I am wrong.

No, 85 was the first year for TPI F bodies, 87 first year for 350 TPI and 305 TPI 5 speeds.

I never said they offered a 350 with a 5 speed. There is no way you haven't seen an '85 or '86 IROC-Z with a 305 TPI, there everywhere.

Come on. Don't post what you think is fact. Find out first and then post.
