Question Hp

How much horse power would I get out of a GM Goodwrench longblock with edelbrock intake and 600cfm carb?

About 230 if that, the cam and heads on that engine are .

Thats the $1400 engine, right? Its not worth it. A friend is running it with tpi in a 350 and its got a little down low but thats about it. Save your pennies and go with the 330 hp 350. That's the winner crate right there.

The engine after the core deposit is about 900. It's just the long block. If it does get 230 with just a little bit of addons, then that's better than having a 170hp 305 . Plus more addons will come later.

Do a Web Search for "GM GOODWRENCH 350" and fing the articles about imporving performance on this engine by CHEVY HIGH PERFORMANCE magazine. More info then you would want to know on that subject.

I think chuck is right. Save your money for the 330 hp motor. MUCH better motor. You could mod the 230 horse motor like crazy and still wouldn't have the base power of the 330 horse motor. Save your pennies a little longer and do less mods.
