how to store car and new tranny

Okay heres the deal, just had a new tko-600 put into the car, speedo isnt hooked up so i cant tell you how much driving its seen but probably like 100km. Realized my engine is toast spun a main bearing and it needs to be pulled and torn down. I'm going to college in 3 weeks so this car is going to have to wait until next year.

As far as the transmission am i okay just leaving the original ATF in it. Then when i get the motor rebuilt drive the car for a bit then change over to GM syncromesh when the break in period should have been over?

As far as the rest of the car i have some pretty expensive goodyears on the car that im not leaving over the winter. I'm just worried that if i leave my car sitting on stands for a year if its a little bit twisted sitting on the stands my car will not be in good shape a year later chassis wise.

What am i to do fellas

no reason to put a car on stands for only a year of storage, it does more harm then good. tires today are not like those of the older days. fill them up to the proper pressure and make sure someone checks on them once in a great while. you'll be fine.

as far as the trans if you really wanted to go severe you could change the fluid to new fluid, otherwise you should be fine. the most important thing in storing a car is the fuel setup. make sure to use some stabil or similar in your tank.

i have some goodyear eagle F1 GS-D3's on the car and live in ontario canada i think it would be a very bad decision for me to leave those tires out in -30 celcius conditions for extended periods of time

I would think that leaving them in temperatures that cold would cause them to dry out a bit and not perform as well. Was also a little scared that if the tires were left in the same spot all winter they would flat spot a little.

flat spot will happen if underinflated sure, but the days of the tire compounds being that way are over for the most part. sure cheaper tires, cheaper grade but if your tires are relatively new, new enough for you to be concerned and they flat spot over one winters time when properly inflated then they are defective.

as far as temperature degrees, every company is different but i wouldn't worry. if your going to be out in the elements without a garage then you should get some cheap rollers for the car anyhow. call up goodyear and talk with their techs about your question. see what they tell you, if they say you can get flat spots then i'd do what they tell you and after you come back buy new tires.
