you don't have to swap out ECMs, just drill the intake for a dist, and run the stock TPI electronics.Originally posted by aklim

How much do alum sbc heads usually go for?

Depends on which ones you get. Average price for a street head is probably between $500 and $600 a head. 
By the way, I'd rather run the opti and the LT1 electronics so you get the sequential injection. Better power and fuel economy.

Dart and Edelbrock make pretty decent street heads for under $2k. Now if you want to go ***** to the wall and get a set of 18 degree Brodix heads, expect to pay $2k+ easily and probably another $2k for the valve train and intake.
