How to get dist. rotor off??

While I was swapping out my whole ignition system (plugs, wires, cap) I tried to get the dist. rotor off but I couldn't. I mean I pulled like crazy and the damn thing just stayed put. I can't see any bolts holding it down. It's for the TBI. Does the rotor stick on the distributor or did mine just get stuck? Or is there a special twisting movement I have to do to get it off? Thanks.

It should just pull straight up and off.

Squirt some WD40 on it.

Yeah, it's probably stuck on there really good. All you need to do is pull straight up real hard and it should pop right off. Never tried using WD-40 but it may be worth shot.

Mine was really on there, I had to play with it for a few minutes before i got it off. I never tried wd-40, but that would be a last resort imo.

wd-40 wont hurt a thing....it is great for removing moisture from a cap.

I had to use a big pair of channel locks to grip it and wiggle it back and forth while I pulled up. The shaft gets rusted and locks the rotor on. It's not the best design but works. As a last resort, you could cut it off with a die grinder. The only bad thing is the dust that will get everywhere. Good luck.
