How do I adjust timing with a Vacuum advance HEI?
I went and got a new distributor for my motor since it was FI and now its carb. But I dont know how to set my timing. Im still not sure if this distibutor will work since it does have the biug computer plug too. But it has the Vaccum advnace deal on it.. Revert to this thread if you think you know.

.And I dont even want to mention that rigged up distributor right now. Last night I went in splicing wires to make another module fit in it.
I really dont care about this engine. Im going to pick up a 400 block to seriously start on next month. As for right now I just want to see if I can make things work with my "goofball" distributor
Also since it wasnt vacuum secondary before where should I connect the other end of the vacuum line coming from the distributor?
On an Edelbrock carb there are 2 small ports on the front at the bottom. One is for constant vacuum and the other is for ported vacuum (vacuum level is taken from above the throttle blades.) You want to hook your vacuum can to ported vacuum, which is the one on the pass. side of the carb.

Edit: You'll also need to go to the link at the bottom of that article.
