Hooker LT's. Coated or not?

Summit has the coated Hooker LT's for 649.99 and the non coated for 409.88.

Wouldi be a fool to not get the coated ones?

get non coated and go to a performance shop and buy a can of coating...spray it on yourself...it'll save you LOTS of money over buying pre-coated headers

I've had those non coated hookers for over 2 years on this car. No corrosion yet, but it is only driven a few hundred miles a year.

I'd go with the coated. Its not just for corrosion. It's mainly to reduce heat under your hood. I'm not sure the spray on stuff would hold up under your hood in the South Carolina heat. I bought the Ti-Tech coated from summit for $399. Its the new ceramic type coating. Good luck. Oh! I thought that Civic VS. Z28 on your cardomain link was hilarious jamilz28.

I'd suggest the coated headers for street/strip duty, and uncoated headers for the stripped and dedicated race car.

Another option is to buy uncoated, strip them to bare metal, clean them up good, then paint them with VHT1600 paint. You need to heat cure it in an oven, but the stuff holds up extremely well. It doesn't reflect and hold heat in the exhaust like ceramic though.

I'd get the uncoated and send them out to Jet Hot for the real coating. I bought the coated one's and they rusted out a year after I put them on. I'm not the only one with this problem either, LOTS of poeple have the same complaints. The coating they use is not the real Jet Hot from the Jet Hot company, it's a knock off and it doesn't last, which makes it a big rip off.

I've been running hooker super comp long tubes that are coated and I've never had any corrosion or chips in the coat. Only thing wrong with them is a few scratches but that's from wrenching around them. Go with coated!! You'll be happy with them. I know I am
