Holley's "Stealth Ram"intake

Just got through reading the latest GMHTP and there was a Holley ad that said the intake could be ordered in a "upper & lower only" under part number # 7540. So I contacted Summint Racing and the sales rep said that it was true and at ONLY $296.90, I nearly fell out of my chair!!! So I asked again thinking he made a mistake, he said "It reads Upper plenum and lower Ram intake base, only." That's dirt cheap!
I think I know what I'm buying next, this thing looks AWSOME and our fuel rails and T/B's are supposed to bolt right up! I'm sure there might be some fabbing of throttle cable brkts or something.
But they claim like 54HP/57LBFT of torque on a stock '91 Z!!!!!!!!
I'm going to research it more but this sounds like the BOMB for us!
Thanx Holley!

They are excellent intakes but the stock fuel reails don't bolt up. You will have to order theirs for an additional cost (i forget how much).

If you go over to www.thirdgen.org and do a search in the message boards theres a lot of research and feedback on them. People seem to love 'em.

If the Stealth Ram had been available a couple summers ago when I put a Minram on my brother's 87 GTA, I can tell you we probably would have tried it. The Miniram is an awesome intake, but for over a grand it's very pricey.

Even if you figure another $200 for fuel rails the Stealth Ram certainly still sounds like a screaming bargain.

Here's your pricing info.

It's an amazing deal compared to some of the other intakes out there.

my sentiments exactly. i had one of the first sets of upper and lowers to be out and ended up not having the time nor money due to some conditions in my life at that time. sucked but they went to Chris Eckerd with his tpi 383. he's since powder coated them and sold them for another intake. that thing will flow like no tomorrow and if you have the heads/cam to back it up will make an awesome piece.

Yeah, lotta buzz about it over on thirdgen.org. I really want to get another TPI car and play around with this intake. $500 for the manifold, plenum and fuel rails with an AFPR is awesome for a TPI intake. Wish they would have had it when I was building the 87Z's engine, I would have gone with different heads and run that. The Superram and Miniram are just too expensive for my blood, call me cheap...

When the vortec Stealth Ram comes out it'll be the thing to replace the TBI. Unfortunally it'll be a little more since I gotta do all the wiring and fuel pump, etc, but if I can pick up decent HP for under a grand I'd be all for it.

Thanx Kevin 91Z and My90Iroc for the links!
Nice picture by Scott C over there it looks AWSOME!, but I am in more of agreement with the Crazy Hawaiin than Brad as to torque losses. Anyways, I'll trade some tire spinning torque for 63HP on top ANYDAY!!!Should help my 60ft times...

I was just so buisy thru the last couple of months that I only recently began to sit down and take time to catch up on what's new. I had seen "it" in January but didn't catch the part of it being offered as "intake only" and certainly not the fact of ot being less than $300! I guess when I saw the $2300+price tag of the system, I dismissed it as too pricey for me and skipped over it.

I'll have one soon, and will modify stock parts to make it work if neccessary. I love a challenge...

OK, you are cheap.

Kidding aside, I love this intake. If I knew then what I know now, this intake would have gone on my 350 with TFS heads and LT4 HotCam. Instead I wasted a lot of time/money on trying to get an LT1 intake to work...it did, but I didn't like the way it turned out so I went back stock.

Hmm... Maybe I'll get one in the future.
