"For all-out-performance, the MR would be the better choice. If you are going for a large-cube motor later and get better heads to feed the cubes, you'll want to port the intake to match the heads and again, the MR would be the better choice. The HSR has a better power curve between 3000-6000 rpms, but the MR shines if your cam,etc, is more in the 4000-7000 rpm band.
The HSR is still a very good intake for a 350,383, or moderate 406, and has the best bang-for-the-buck, but it can't match the MR for all-out performance, nor match it's all-out price.. "
