Unhappy hidden leaks....help please

I have looked and looked and have not been able to find two leaks from my engine. One is an oil leak and the other is a coolant leak. I dont have the time right now to rip up my engine bay to look for these probs....all I know is that I can see smoke coming up from the passenger side by the cowl for the oil related problem and for the coolant, I know that it is dripping onto the Y pipe when the car isnt running. The oil isnt really a big deal, but i have no coolant any more and the tail pipes just started to spew out white smoke( not sure if there is any relation). Any ideas as to where these leaks are so I can pin point the problems and get them over with? Sorry for the long post....Thanx.

For the oil leak try the simplest first - valvecover gasket (loose or busted). The coolant is the bad one: if you are losing coolant and blowing white smoke - head gasket or cracked head or block.

If it's out one tailpipe, that's the side the bad gasket is on.

If engine was recent rebuild or heads just installed, it's possible head gaskets got loose due to no retorque. That would cause spew out of both tailpipes.

leaks

sounds like a blown head gasket, causing both leaks. check the head gasket on the side that is puffing oil burn off. Looks like you'll hav ta make time now.

unless ur car has dual exhaust, looking at which side the smoke is comin out of doesnt tell u anything. try taking a spray bottle of water and spray each header pipe or exhaust manifold right where it comes out of the enigine. the spot where it takes the longest to burn off is where the coolant leak is in (blown head gasket)
hope this helps

How about steam cleaning the engine and adding dye to the oil and use a black light to determine where it is coming from. You can't see anything with all that stuff there. Fix it and do the same with the coolant.
