Heres the deal

Ok, finally got a hold of the seller. I need some advice on how to go with this:

91 Camaro Z-28, Black. Grey Leather interior. Few tears. 125,000 miles on the body.

Swapped in 350TPI, 3,000 miles supposedly on the engine.

Richmond 5-speed Transmission, 17,000 miles. bolted on clean, he says.

Body and Chassis are straight. Tires, brakes, new, regular oil changes,

Heres the problems:

The tuned port injectors have been removed. I might be able to throw em into the deal...if not, what are they gonna run me?

Fuel injectors need to be plugged back in...no biggy there.

Choke was getting a little iffy on him.

No A/C. all removed.

He says without the injectors, he can sell as low as 1300ish. Is it worth my time guys?

Can i get a rough price on the tuned port injectors too?

EDIT: need hood louvers too, but im thinkin about a 4" cowl induction hood anyway.

EDIT#2: He also says the engine has a little work put into it...new cam and such...will get some more details on that.

Re: Heres the deal

L98' ran a Bosch or Rochestor injector among others depending on the year...If you go with a Bosch 20lb (GM called them 22lb in the 80's but since then the standard for flowing injectors is different) they will run you about 50 bucks or so a piece. There are cheaper options out there too, but IMO bosch is the way to go...

Later,

Erik

OH PS...fuel injected cars do not have a choke....

Re: Heres the deal

sounds like a deal for 1300. but if the car is a Z then it should have originally came with a tpi motor. are you sure he has a 350 tpi in it right now or a carburated motor?

Re: Heres the deal

heehee. Well, here's the deal. (again)

Was originally a 305TPI motor. the guy yanked it out for a 350TPI, but for some reason or the next, ripped out the tuned port injectors and stuff for a carbeurator. (im sure im dicing that word up.)

He said something about selling the injectors on Ebay...theyre nos-so and so...but yeah. It needs tuned port injection elements, possibly A/C (i know, the diehards are gonna kill me for sayin that, but it gets cold and hot in jersey) fuel injectors gotta get plugged back in...but yeah. Now i gotta convince the 'rents to let me buy a car that currently goes 0-60 in however fast the truck towing it goes.

So, anyone got any tips on reinstalling tune port injectors?

I mean, its hard to walk away from a soon-to-be-again 350TPI 5-speed.

Check eBay, you can find injectors for less than $100 bucks all day long.
