HELP! wtf is wrong with it

hey guys.....well my car's really messed up

about a year ago I took it to the shop to get a new starter put in......and I've been back about 4 different times because they keep putting bad starters in it......each time I get a new one my car clicks about 10 times before actually starting up...it's really annoying

so the other day I went to start it and I waited to hear the fuel pump like I always do, except this time it sounded really loud for some reason......so then I tried starting my car and it wouldn't turn over.......so I tried about 10 more times and finally it did.....it scared the crap outa me

so today I went to get gas and it did it again and I couldn't get it to start ...I was freakin out.....so I called a tow truck but right after I took one of the fuel injectors off and it ended up starting so I hurried and re-connected it and drove home. now it won't turn over again and I don't know what the hell is wrong with it....

any ideas?

I'm thinkin maybe the fuel pump died because of all the attempts I've had to make to start it due to the clicking.....

ugh :'(

Thanks guys

If the engine won't crank it is not your fuel pump. You need to look at VATS and also your ground. You can do a voltage drop test on starter circuit and then take it from there...if you don't know how to perform a voltage drop test, go pay someone....

Re: HELP! wtf is wrong with it

Hook up a noid light to the solenoid wire on the starter. If that works, the problem is not in the VATS or the neutral safety

Re: HELP! wtf is wrong with it

thanks for the replies guys...

well today I decided I would try to swap fuel filters because I've never done it on this car and I thought it was possible that was why I wasn't starting. so after 5 hours of kickin punchin and swearin at it, I finally broke the old one free and put the new one on.....1 problem though...now it won't start AND I'm not getting any fuel through the injectors. I'm almost positive I put the filter on right ("out" side on the passenger side). And I did take the fuel pump fuse out to try and relieve gas pressure....but I put it back. Any idea as to why I'm not getting any fuel to the injectors now?

Thanks

Blown fuse? Are you getting the pump to prime when you turn it on but not start? Also are you getting pressure to the fuel rail? Change the filter again and see if that is a bad filter to begin with. Check the injectors with a noid light to see if you are getting pulses when you crank

Re: HELP! wtf is wrong with it

thanks for the reply aklim,

well the fuel pump fuse doesn't look blown..it looks fine

and by getting the pump to prime, what are you referring to? is that when you can hear it when you have the ignition on? because I can and it sounds normal right now.

yeah I might change the filter because the one I bought was actually opened before which I thought was a bit shady. I'm really dredding all that fuel again but I guess I might have to.

and as far as the noid light? I'm not really familiar with it....what is it exactly?

excuse my n00bieishness lol

Thanks a lot

Test the fuse anyways. The break might be there even if you don't see it clearly. Ask me how many hours I spent diagnosing a wire because the fuse was ok.

When you turn the key, the pump will whine for a couple of seconds to prime the fuel lines. If you connect the fuel pressure tester there, you will see the pressure rise when you turn the key.

I think the fuel filter is bad but you never know.

http://volkswagen.msk.ru/vw_doc/eva2/FU01/ch4.8.1.html is an example. You can use a couple of pins and stick them into the fuel injector clip. Run a voltmeter to see if there is current when you crank the engine.
