Hedman exhaust 68471

Atleast I think that was my model number. They were/are going on my 92 camaro rs. Boy does the fitmant really suck. Had to do some hammering and in the end will end up doing a little welding jujst to make sure of no leaks. Im gonna run a pipe and keep the cat off. I have the y pipe that was supposed to go with the set and I just dont see how anyone could run any bigger headers that these. Havent finished the engine yet so not sure how it sounds.
This is only my second set of headers Ive installed but both really sucked.
The first set was on my 98z28 which were harder compared to these hedman.
But for $135 what can you expect. Anyone have any comments?

pretty much any header install on third gens sucks *** unless they are short tubes..... just be glad you aren't trying to run a dual exhaust nightmare

Re: Hedman exhaust 68471

I just installed my 68470's on the IROC and had no problem putting them in. Only problem i had was had to bend and dent the front tube on drivers side cause of the AFR angle plug heads. Mine slid right up from the bottom with ease.

Cool Re: Hedman exhaust 68471

Well I guess it wasnt that bad after all, its just im doing an entire engine swap and all the little things turn into big things after awhile. I thought I would be done by now but have some ext gauges to hook up and several wires I need to track down that dont have a home. Small problems like after we started the car we saw a puddle underneath. We pinched one of the lines going to the tranny. Anyway another day tomorrrow and hoppefully Ill be done except a trip to the exhaust shop to make a pipe where the cat no longer is.

Question Re: Hedman exhaust 68471

Did you notice an improvement with the new headers?
