Headman headers

I'm planning to get a set for $119 at JEGS without any emissions hookups. I also plan to get the Y-pipe for $99. Do these bolt right in or do they require some modifications? Its for a 91 TBI. Thanks.

Oh yeah, do the stock plug wires work with these headers or do I need another type?

I got the coated Hedman shorties and absolutely LOVE them. You have to jack the driver's side of the motor up about 1.5" to get the driver's side header in, but other than that it's a very straightforward install. I chose to use wires with 90* boots and ran them under the headers....not sure if the stock style wires will work or not. I also had a custom Y-pipe built along with the 3" cat-free exhaust.

The Y pipe should be fine for an L03 motor, but honestly that Y pipe sucks my ***, so if you ever go to a bigger motor down the road definately have another made.

When I got mine, I found that it was not a direct bolt-in with the factory Y pipe since they used the 3-bolt collector flanges (not the 2-bolt factory style). They also did not line up where the factory y-pipe matches up.

I intend to re-do mine at some point (longtubes?) we shall see once I get the $$$

the only problem with the Heddman Y pipe is the pipe size, 2 1/2" if I remember right.
