O2 sensors I assume? You can't just leave em hangin or unhooked or else the computer will go nuts. If you already have the headers then you need to get O2 bungs and have them welded on. If you haven't ordered them yet then get headers that have the O2 fittings on them already.

If you mean the coolant sensors that are mounted in the heads then they should fit under the headers just fine....just run the wires carefully so they won't melt.

You can but it'll mess with your A/F ratios a bit. People generally don't get simms unless they're into programming their own fuel curves and aren't worried about how it will affect the mixture. But it will keep the computer happy if that's all you're lookin for.

what exactly will happen if i just leave the sensor "hanging", and if i get a sim. for it and the comp. is happy will it run lean or rich?

If you leave the O2 hanging then the computer will see an abundance of oxygen and dump insane amounts of fuel into the engine. It will probably run the injectors past their 90% maximum duty cycle and burn them up in the process.

An O2 simm just sends the computer a signal that simulates an O2 signal. Whether that signal will make it run lean or rich depends on the conditions.

thanks, obviously the better thing would be to get the bung for the sensor, but is it worth the hassle when i can just put a sim. in the place of it? Also, where can i get a sim for it?

I'm not clear about this here. What is the harm of reinserting the O2 sensor instead of going thru the hassle of using a sim?

Aklim: I think his headers just don't have O2 fittings and he doesn't want to take them to get some put in.

StangeatinZ: I'm not sure who carries them but try www.jegs.com and www.summitracing.com. I really think you'll be better off getting the fitting welded in though. It'll keep your A/F ratio nice and they really aren't expensive to have welded on at all. You'll pay more for the simms that to buy the fittings and have them welded up.
