HATCH pulldown motor
HATCH pulldown motor
Hmm, this is new. I haven't had to use the hatch since last Fall, so the motor has been unused. I opened it today (the release switch inside the car works fine) and the hatch jumped open - no problem. After a while of cleaning things I went to put it back down.
Now the hatch will lock into the motor, but the motor does not pull down. No noise, no movement. The release solenoid works fine, but that is a separate part.
Does this mean the pulldown motor is dead, or is there something I can fiddle with that might get it to work? I did notice that one of the 4 wires in the connector to the motor was corroded. I did my best to clean it off, but still no dice.
How can I try to get it to work?
And if it is dead, how much do these motors cost?
Thanks guys!

Right behind the back of the latch, there is the lever for the motor. Push is dpwn and see if it moves (don't worry, it won't catch your finger). If it don't, take the trim off and get a motor for a junk yard. Shouldn't cost you more the 20 or so.
