Hatch Motor keeps dying!!

Hatch Motor keeps dying!!

Is there anyway that i can place a hatch lock that is not electric...I just bought a reconditioned hatch motor...put it in..it locked my hatch...i opened it today....and it wont work anymore....what the heck is wrong.....if anyone has advice..i could sure use it...this is hatch motor number 3!!!

Yea I have replaced mine once and the one I have now is starting to go again. I am interested in a way to just have it close all the way without the pull down.

Lol that sux dude, i dont know waht to say. where is the hatch motor mounted, on the hatch or on the actual car??

its mounted on the car...when u shut the hatch it suppose to pull it down and lock it....

^Oh ya, thats right the *car* pulls it down. I was gonna say remove it, but I dont know if that is possible

heres my solution i posted it in another thread but it worked for me

with the motor hatch locked and closed and all the way down take a drill and drill some holes through it and through the tracks it rides on it may be diffucult to do this withough accidently opening tha hatch but put something heavy on it or have a friend hold it
after you drill the holes screw some screws into it to hold it in place.

it may not be pretty but it works for me im not so lazy that i need help closing the trunk.

you could aways just break the motor to pieces all that does is keeps the latch in place without it the latch can fall out
