If i close my hatch, the motor goes on but it never stops unless i unplug it and the hatch doesn't get sucked down. Is this fixable? or should i just get another motor?

There is a tiny black switch that snapped off (99% probability). You need a new one basically. If you can get the main upper unit dealie, you can keep your motor and stuff like that.

 

This sounds exactly right. The 'little black switch' is what the hatch hits when it reaches the full-down position. This is the adjustable part (I think) so you can adjust how far down the hatch gets pulled. If this is broken, the top switch will still activate the motor, but it wont stop. HTH
