Gotta love TPI torque!!

Thought I would post this..

I dyno tuned this for a local guy today. He had a $500 mail order chip that did 270rwhp/320rwtq..

After 6 pulls we got this..

Re: Gotta love TPI torque!!

BTW.. It was a moderate camshaft (sounded about like a 220-230 and I never got the cam specs.), stock heads, stock TPI intake, stock injectors, higher compression bottom end. It still was a 350 and was a auto with a vette convertor.

Re: Gotta love TPI torque!!

People spend way too much on chips all the time. I think he walked out the doors spending $300 altogether from us.. A dyno tuned prom + 1 hour dyno time.

The horrible thing was that the first motor blew up with that chip. I'm convinced his first chip was at fault because the car detonated like crazy and ran super lean.

mrr23.. I went on your website and looked at the dyno graphs.. You should get that thing dyno tuned.. you'll make quite a bit more power. Even on spray you should run no where near that rich..

Re: Gotta love TPI torque!!

It looks like he would have had a higher torque number if the run was started at a lower RPM. The torque value starts high and drops right away.

Here's my dyno. Now that is torque!

Re: Gotta love TPI torque!!

This car was an auto.. on alot of them you have to roll into the gas and late to prevent the car from downshifting.

I probally wasn't in the gas 100% until about 4000rpm.

Good job with your car, looks good.. You guys need to go from a long runner intake to a LT1 style to move that hp up, you'd loose a little torque but the whole power band will be alot broader

It would be nice to live near places that had such services as you all talk about.
