Alright fellas, pulled a seized 350 TPI from an IROC-Z tonight.
Motor is full bolt on with stock internals, hot cam, headers, ported vette L98's, custom runners, ported intake, and has been seeing 100 shot for a season until it finally blew something. Its a friends motor, he pulled it all the way to 4th gear spraying when it lost power, he shut it down and coasted some, it started hammering pretty hard and then seized. Motor is out of the car, trans is off and there is no way to rotate the crank to get at the torque convertor bolts. I want to to know if anyone has any ideas. I dont feel like pulling the crank out while still on the cherry picker just to get at the bolts, anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Why destroy stuff? Since it's seized and you will need a rebuild anyway, just remove the crank then you will access all the converter nuts. I guarantee you will spend less time than trying to cut up the TC.

Pull the pan and see what kind of damage is inside preventing it from turning. Maybe you can move a bad rod out of the way to rotate the crank. Chances are if something let go, there's not much to save anyway.
Im gonna pull the pan off and try it that way, if i get lucky and only have to move a bad rod then so be it. If not im just going to drop the crank out from the bottom and do it that way. Thanks for the help.

Just bolt a long piece of angle iron to the balancer and turn the engine (were talking seven foot long piece). I have done that to "siezed" engines before, and they become unsiezed. Damn near sends you across the shop when it pops free, but it is the easiest way to get the TC bolts loose.

That makes it trickier, I have done this to engines that were still bolted in the motor mounts in mid 70's Chevy trucks. Put it back in the car and bolt it down?

melted some pistons, ended up pulling the entire crank off, thanks for the help.
