getting rid of LG4

Hey, I'm going to be looking for a 350 to replace my 305 LG4.... but for a cleaner look in the engine bay I would like to loose the emissions crap, but I have to be able to pass the emissions test for IL.... i was told that I would have to find a certain year engineto be able to do this successfully, is this true? and if so what year(s) would I be looking for?....

Thanks, scott

No! Without what you call "emission crap" forget about passing any E-Check test. No model year or engine type will be able to pass any test without your "emission crap".

GM makes an entire 350 (and 700r4 if you want it) that is already emissions approved as a replacement for the 305. It includes pretty much everything, including a carb. Well over 300 hp, too

You should check it out with your favourite dealer.

Best idea I can come up with for you poor folks under the smog *****' heels
