Fuel leak?

My friend has an 86 Iroc, and there seems to be a fuel leak coming from a part that is located towards the bottom of the block on the left side (looking at the engine from the front). It looks like fuel lines are going in and out of this part, and it is kind of dome shaped on top. Is this the fuel filter? Also, how do we know if it is a 305 or a 350? Its an 86 and its auto.

Does anyone have a diagram of the 3rd gen engines/engine bays? Thanks.

no idea what it is but i know its not your fuel filter that would be located right infront of the fuel tank by the back of the car. Could there just be some loose bolts?

Has everyone on the board forgotten about mechanical fuel pumps?

On the pass. side of the block at the front near the bottom.....that's your fuel pump. It's mounted to the block with 2 bolts, it has fuel lines going in and out of it, and it's cake to change. You can get one at a local parts store for next to nothing.

As far as it being a 305/350....the only way to really tell is by the casting numbers on the block.
